The Soviet watch brand Lux, also known as Люкс (meaning “luxury”), has a fascinating and unique history. Established in the 1950s at the Penza Watch Factory, the Lux brand was one of the few men’s watches produced at this facility. Initially, Lux watches utilized calibers designed for ladies’ watches, adapted to larger cases by using movement spacers. The original design was clearly inspired by the Doxa Grafic, but over time, other dial styles were introduced. Production of the Lux brand ceased around 1964, when all watches from the Penza Watch Factory were consolidated under the Zaria brand (Wix Site) (Wix Site).
